Violet box october 2014!

Wednesday, 29 October 2014

Hey guys,
It is time to unbox the violet box :)

Wotnot facial wipes for oily/sensitive skin
I received this in either bellabox last month or the parcel not sure but I don't mind receiving it twice, who doesn't like facial wipes they always come handy specially because I travel a lot and I always need facial wipes with me on the plane or in my luggage!

PHR Professional Haircare Recovery leave-in-moisturiser

I was glad I got this, my hair is not in a good condition right now so I needed this really. I'm trying lots of different products for my hair and this will come in handy. I love that it has natural ingredients too!

Designer brands lip pencil

I haven't tried this lip liner on my lips yet but when I swatched this on my hand I noticed that its creamy and so easy to apply and I love the shade I got (Fuchsia Rose)

Designer Brands Eternal Colour Lipstick

I love the shade I got (rose brown) it suits me perfectly and it is very creamy. I loved this product.

Haughty Cosmetics Perfect Finish Lipgloss

I got this in pull it together, beautiful orangy/red colour, not bright and not dark.
This brand is a U.S brand that I havem't heard of before but I really like the lipgloss it's not sticky and feels good on the lips.

Eslor Introductory Collection

This includes a soothing refiner and cleanser, firming collagen day cream, botanical peeling gel and chlorophyll lifting mask. Haven't tried anything from this brand before but I'm super excited to try the botanical peeling gel and chlorophyll lifting mask!

So yeah that's all I got.
Overall, I'm pretty happy with this month's box.

Violet box - August 2014 review.

Friday, 29 August 2014

Hi everyone!
Hope all is well.  It’s the time of the month where all your subscription boxes arrive!!
I have received my violet box in the mail today, so I thought why not write a review. It’s not a full review as I haven’t used all the products yet. So for those of you who don’t know what violet box is, it is a beauty subscription box which costs $22.95 a month.

As stated on their website:
Each month you will receive a selection of 5+ deluxe beauty samples from across the globe. Our beauty experts hand pick the best in beauty especially for you.

Now let’s just get into it!

So it usually comes in a black box with a magnetic closure but they’ve have changed their packaging although I have loved their old one but I prefer the new packaging. It is now a white slide out box and I’m pretty sure that I will be using it to store some of my stuff.

The boxes always come with a description card with the prices of the products on.

1. Foltene Eyelash Treatment RRP $20.95
As stated on the description card:
Get fuller, longer more luscious lashes easily! The eyelash and brow treatment restores dry, thin fragile lashes that easily fall and promotes natural growth. Safe to use for sensitive eyes and dermatologically tested.
It says to apply the treatment once in the morning before make-up and in the evening after having accurately removed make-up. Apply the product to the upper and lower eyelashes starting from the base to the tips using the applicator brush specially conceived for eyelash treatments. It can also be used for the eyebrows.

To be honest I’m a little scared to try this because my eyes can be so sensitive and I had a lot has happened to my eyes the past year. But I will give it a try and see how this goes.

2. Evelyn lona Lipgloss in Val RRP $20.50
As stated on the card:
This smooth talking, preservative-free, hydrating, and protective gloss speaks nothing but good for humans, nature and our furry friends. It’s even GLUTEN FREE!

I was pretty happy that this product is organic. I liked the colour it suits me well, its glides on really well but that’s not something I’ll be wearing alone I might wear it on top of a lipstick or something as it is quite sheer.

3. Be A Bombshell Eyeshadow Quad RRP $22.00
A high pigmented long lasting formula for all day wear. With 4 shades packed neatly into a compact. Enjoy the convenience and versatility of creating many different looks from the quad.
I received it with the shade New York City, I was pretty upset at first as I would've liked warmer colours but the colours weren't that bad and they all complement each other. I already have a look in mind. Oh and also, I wouldn't say it is highly pigmented.

4. Camille Beckman Glycerine Hand Therapy RRP $18.95 6oz, RRP $21.95 8oz
Perfectly sized to toss into your handbag, keep it on your nightstand or leave it on your desk for midday nourishment. This rich cream goes on smoothly and restores much needed moisture.

The smell of this is DIVINNEE!! I would purchase it again and again just for the smell and the smell only. I have used it twice today and I can tell you it does what it says, it left my hand moisturised and so soft. It’s already on my nightstand, that’s how much I loved it. Sadly, it is a deluxe sample.

5. Appelles Rosemary Body Bar Soap RRP$5.95
This vegetable soap bar draws moisture allowing your skin to remain soft and hydrated. It gently cleanses without drying or stripping your skin, helping to reduce epidermal stress. Suitable for everyone and all skin types.
This also smells really good, lemony I’d say or citrusy. I can’t wait to use this next time I take a shower!

All in all, I was pretty impressed with this box as always. This is my 3rd box from violet box and I’m impressed with each box I have received. I would definitely recommend them if you are looking for a monthly subscription box.

*All the products were full sized except the hand cream.
